Itsy Bitsy Purse

In my last post I mentioned that I would be making a purse to match Isabella´s Hat Here and satchel, Here and here it is! It really was great fun to make, basically just cut the fabric to the size you want, sew it up as you would for any bag, and glue the top of the fabric to the metal closure. This closure has openings on the bottom rim, so I sewed pink embroidery floss through it to give it a little finishing touch.

Once again I asked Teddy to pose, just because I think he´s ever so cute 🙂

Well from the number of items that I have made with these fabrics, I think it is pretty obvious that I fully intend to use up every scrap of leftover fabric 😉

Car Bin Bag

One of my best friends is a Sales Rep, so her car is her office, which she keeps  impeccably clean and tidy. One of her accessories is a little plastic bag that she hangs on the gear shift, so that she can throw in the daily rubbish, dirty tissues etc.

I decided to make  a special little quilted bin bag for her. The inside has plastic lining so that it can be wiped clean, and the handle is only on one of the sides, so that it can hang from the gear shift onto the passenger side.

here is what it looks like.

My friend lives in South Africa so I had to send it via DHL,  she received it yesterday and sent me a message saying how much she liked it, so that makes me happy!

One of the joys of sewing is being able to make and gift items, that are handmade with a special person in mind.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!
